Description of Activities
1. To advance the education of persons with dyslexia or executive function challenges, their families and
the wider community by providing or sharing knowledge, resources, programs, best practices and findings
with each group through outreach offerings, in particular:
(a) individual learning programs, summer learning programs, assessment and educational consulting,
remedial programs, customized learning, executive function programs, and professional development and
training programs, to support children, youth, and adults with dyslexia or executive function challenges,
their families, teachers and educators and the wider community;
(b) early literacy screening programs, including early child care, to help identify and support young
learners with dyslexia or executive function challenges; and
(c) to support and cooperate with research by primary, secondary, post-secondary and other research
institutions which develop and share knowledge, resources, programs, best practices, and research
findings in the fields of dyslexia, executive function and education with the scientific, educational and wider
communities.
2. To advance education by establishing and operating a training institute or programs accredited under
the Degree Authorization Act (British Columbia) or by other accrediting institutions to provide specialized
training or professional development to teachers, other educators or education providers, and postsecondary students in the field of education on teaching, structured literacy and working with persons with
dyslexia or executive function challenges.
3. To purchase, lease or otherwise acquire and hold lands and to acquire, build, reconstruct, repair,
improve and manage buildings, facilities, equipment, furnishings or other assets for the operation of a
primary or secondary educational institution and childcare facility (or combination thereof), a training
institute and outreach programs to the public serving persons with dyslexia or executive function
challenges, primarily in the Province of British Columbia.
4. To make grants to qualified donees as defined in section 149.1(1) of the Income Tax Act (Canada).
