Tax Executives Institute, Inc. (TEI) is a nonprofit membership organization based in the United States. The organization was founded in 1944 and is dedicated exclusively to the professional needs of the in-house tax community worldwide. The organization educates, networks, and advocates on all aspects of business taxation. Membership in TEI is only available to individuals who work in a tax capacity for for-profit business organizations. TEI advocates on matters affecting business taxpayers as a whole. Particular areas of emphasis are minimizing compliance burdens, improving audit processes and other aspects of tax administration, and promoting sound tax policy. The views expressed by TEI are those of the organization as a whole, not of its individual, volunteer members or their employers.
