Global Automakers (GAC) is the national industry association representing the Canadian interests of 15 of the worlds most respected automakers. The GAC advocates for sound public policy to support a competitive and sustainable automotive market in Canada. Our members are committed to meeting the mobility needs of Canadians by providing greater consumer choice, offering leading edge safety and environmental technologies and eliminating unnecessary regulatory and trade barriers. 2017 set an all new high for Canadian auto sales with 2,038,797 units sold in 2017, up 4.6% from 2016. The member companies of the GAC sold a record 1,160,446 units up 5.5% over 2016. The members support some 77,000 direct and indirect jobs in Canada along with 60% of Canada's 3,331 dealers across Canada.
