Significant concerns regarding the Ministry's K-12 Literacy Supports Initiative, including requirements for mandatory Kindergarten literacy screen beginning in the 2025-26 school year and its expansion to mandatory K-3 screen in 2026-27. The Federation remains strongly opposed to the use of American screening tools in BC curriculum or the Learning through the Primary Years Framework.
