Since our most recent letter, we have found the GGRR to have been updated. Incentives (up to $5 million to expend on feasibility and development costs) for prescribed undertakings have been removed.
There are additional benefits to being a prescribed undertaking in the latest update of the GGRR. The ability to undertake these actions under a prescribed framework inherently provides some advantages (e.g., regulatory clarity, streamlined approval processes, etc.), which geothermal is still excluded from. At the very least, it is important that legislators and regulators consider providing equitable visibility for our industry.
