CIJA intends to engage the Premier of British Columbia, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Poverty Reduction and Social Development to share additional measures the government could take to support the Charitable and non profit (C/NFP) sector in times of COVID-19. The requests include the following:
1. Deployment of additional relief funding to front line social service agencies providing food services, counselling, and housing solutions to those affected by the pandemic.
2. Equitable distribution of funding to ensure access and opportunity for all British Columbians including ethno-culturally based communities
3. Considerations for the temporary enhancement of the provincial portion of the charitable tax credit
