Lobbying activities will focus on seeking meaningful dialogue with provincial decision-makers regarding Bill 21 and related treaty legislation currently before the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, including the Crown's consultation obligations and the impacts of the proposed legislation on the Aboriginal rights and title of Lax Kw'alaams and the Nine Allied Tribes of the Tsimshian Nation. The Band will also lobby government to pause, delay, or amend Bill 21 to ensure that provisions adversely affecting Lax Kw'alaams' rights, title, and interests are appropriately addressed before the legislation proceeds.
