BC requires more skilled electrical workers and construction professionals to support the government and BC Hydro’s capital plans (hospitals, schools, power facilities, infrastructure), and private construction projects (housing, commercial, industrial, etc).
Intended Outcome: Increased funding and support for electrical apprentices to increase the number of apprentices and journeypersons.

ECABC is lobbying for Prompt Payment legislation: legislation that provides payment timeline certainty for all contractors and workers on a construction project, and implements a dispute adjudication system to reduce legal costs for construction and resolve issues faster.
