Policy and program recommendations regarding the social and economic importance of safe and reliable rural roads that are upgraded and maintained to a condition suitable for the type and volume of traffic that rely on them. The Coalition advocates to upgrade a grid of key roads to provide reliable year round access for residents and to stimulate and encourage economic activity from the primary industries by providing 100% legal axle load loading to for twelve months per year. This activity will increase government revenue, reduce seasonal lay-offs and stimulate the regional and provincial economy.
