The foundation of the outfitting industry is the Guide Territory Certificate. The Wildlife Act allows the term to be up to 25 years. Current policy direction is 6 months to process and complete First Nations consultation. Also there is policy direction that they should be renewed for 25 years. It is important that these timelines are a worst case scenario and that the default term is always 25 years.
