Description of Activities:
The Praxis Spinal Cord Institute is a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization that leads global collaboration in spinal cord injury research, innovation and care. We accelerate the translation of discoveries and best practices into improved treatments for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI).
Praxis works in four core program areas:
(1) Cure - generation of knowledge and the establishment of treatments that will ultimately result in a cure for paralysis after SCI.
(2) Care - evidence-based equitable and optimal care for Canadians with spinal cord injuries.
(3) Consumer Engagement - engages individuals with SCI as partners in research.
(4) Commercialization - facilitates the development and commercialization of innovative therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and health-IT related technologies with direct application to SCI.
