To exchange information, ideas and options related to BC's cement industry relating to BC's climate change and air emissions policies, laws & regulations including the Gas Reduction Targets Act, the Clean Growth Climate Action Plan, and the Clean Growth Incentive Program. To advocate for the acceptance of alternative and renewable fuels for use in cement manufacturing and the cement low carbon fuel program; and for advocating for the industry's solid waste & waste recovery solutions. To discuss and analysis of the competitiveness and other impacts of the Carbon Tax and seek amendments and alternatives to mitigate the impacts on the cement industry including financial incentives. To advance industry solutions to the built environment which benefit the evironment and sustainability. To send correspondence and meet with Cabinet and elected officials to educate them on industry issues.

To advocate for taxation, regulatory changes and other cost of manufacturing issues to address and improve the competitiveness of the BC cement industry. To advocate for modifications to the Carbon Tax that support competitiveness of the B.C. Cement industry and which promotes and incents reducing emissions through grants, programs and regulations. To advocate for the continued development of a cement low carbon fuel program.

To modify the Wood First Act to conform with procurement practices which are open, fair and inclusive to competition, to respect the technical, sustainable and economic advantages of concrete, to recognize the local, non-export nature of concrete production and delivery and to recognize and employ appropriate environmental life cycle investment tools in infrastructure decisions. Discussions on the industry¿s intention to transition to the use of Portland-Limestone Cement from General Use cement, to increase the use of alternative bids for highway construction and the use of lifecycle assessment and lifecycle cost assessment methodologies to decrease costs and GHGs from highway road construction by using more concrete alternatives.
