1) It is economically critical for British Columbia to start targeting funding towards technology innovation projects in advanced low-carbon smart mobility research and commercialization projects -- something that is not occurring in B.C. today.
CUTRIC is requesting a budget of $8 Million over four years to offset 40% of the cost of projects in B.C., as based on the half-dozen projects already in the CUTRIC pipeline, as presented at the CUTRIC BC Innovation Days hosted at TransLink offices in Vancouver on January 31st 2018.
2) CUTRIC is encouraging the Government of British Columbia to create a co-investment strategy for low-carbon smart mobility research to ensure future investments by companies such as Ballard remain in British Columbia.
3) It is critical that British Columbia lead the set-up of a Hydrogen Transportation Innovation Initiative for Canada to maintain the Province¿s hold on the global hydrogen propulsion industry and prevent the displacement of that industry to Europe or other global jurisdictions.
