BOMA is engaged with the Provincial Government to facilitate a labour market research partnership to study this issue. BOMA BC has implemented an emergency mass notification system which will increase communications capabilities in the event of an emergency situation or natural disaster. Quick response times have the power to reduce or eliminate injuries and limit property damage. After receiving our emergency notifications, corporate members can share the information with employees, tenants or property visitors, together contributing to the development of a safer and more aware community. BOMA wishes to work with the Province and other partners to help create a robust and effective 24/7 mass notification system in British Columbia.

BOMA has been a leader in developing certification and recognition programs to transform the industry moving towards a greater focus on energy efficiency and continuous improvement of buildings. BOMA is seeking financial support for an energy efficiency and resiliency centre which will assist the built environment in achieving emissions reductions targets and increasing the sustainability of the industry.
