BOMA is engaged with the Province to facilitate a labour market research partnership to study this issue. This may potentially lead to the development of a post-secondary certification program or related initiatives as the industry works with the Province to gather information and review possible outcomes.

BOMA BC has developed an emergency mass notification system which will increase our communications capabilities in the event of an emergency situation or natural disaster. Quick response times have the power to reduce or eliminate injuries and limit property damage. After receiving our emergency notifications, corporate members can share the information with employees, tenants or property visitors, together contributing to the development of a safer and more aware community. BOMA seeks to engage the Province and other partners to help create a robust and effective mass notification system in British Columbia.

BOMA has been a leader in developing certification and recognition programs to transform the industry moving towards a greater focus on energy efficiency and continuous improvement of buildings. BOMA is seeking financial support for an energy efficiency centre which will assist the built environment in achieving provincial emissions reductions targets.
