The BCMA is currently working on 5 policy papers, 1. Informal Caregivers - anticipated that this paper will make recommendations to government and other stakeholders aimed at increasing supports for informal caregivers; 2. Genomics/precision medicine - to be released shortly and will include lobbying efforts aimed at various stakeholders including the government to develop a coordinated provincial action plan for precision medicine that considers: issues regarding integration into clinical practice, reviewing and updating applicable informed consent and privacy legislations and how to best support clinical research across BC - 3. Physician Autonomy - still in development but anticipated that this policy and subsequent lobbying efforts will be aimed at informing the government what doctors mean by the term physician autonomy and explaining why physician autonomy is necessary for sustainability and improvement in BC's health care system; 4. Quality improvement- not yet finalized but anticipated that the intended outcome of this policy will be to inform government of the physician's perspective on features and benefits of a robust measurement and continuous quality improvement culture in BC; 5. Information Management/Information Technology - lobbying efforts to provide Doctors of BC/Physicians response to MOH Information Management/Information Technology policy paper.
