The BCMEA is committed to building Canada's economic future by working with its customer-members and stakeholders to ensure cost effective, reliable services that permit a smooth flow of goods and commerce. At its core, the BCMEA is a service provider of labour relations for maritime employers in BC. In addition to labour relations activiites, the BCMEA oversees recruitment and training of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) workforce and is responsible for the daily dispatch of required labour in Port Metro Vancouer. As needed, the Association also provides industry advocacy on regulatory issues for the benefit of customer-members. BCMEA is a multiemployer waterfront organization representing 66 lines and agencies, stevedoring copanies, container, bulk, break bulk and cruise ship terminal operators on Canada's West Coast. |
