(1) The BC Care Providers Association is requesting funding and policy changes as to address the health human resource challenges in BC's continuing care sector. (2) The BC Care Providers Association is requesting funding for the purpose of a Safety Training and Equipment Program that will benefit front line employees of BC's continuing care sector and BC's senior population. (3) BC Care Providers Association intends to advocate for funds to implement a quality assurance program in home health. (4) BC Care Providers Association intends to brief the Minister of Health as to the potential impacts of Bill 16 and share recommendations for the necessary resources to support the implementation of this legislation. (5) BC Care Providers Association plans to advise the Minister of Health on any implications which Bill 47 might have on seniors' care providers in B.C. (6) BC Care Providers will advise the Minister of Health and relevant members of the opposition on the anticipated impacts of expropriating home support contracts in B.C. (7) BC Care Providers will make recommendations about the independence of the Office of the Seniors Advocate. (8) BC Care Providers will advocate to have EHT costs funded for publicly subsidized seniors¿ care providers. (9) BC Care Providers Association plans to advise the Minister of Health on any implications which changes to employment or labour legislation might have on seniors¿ care providers in B.C. (10) BCCPA will make BC MLA¿s aware of the requests outlined in BCCPA¿s submission to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Affairs, specifically, building new long-term care and assisted living spaces, enhancing quality of life, continuing the Seniors Safety and Quality Improvement Program and taking action on the health human resource crisis. (11) Advise BC MLAs of the recommendations made by BCCPA through the Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services consultation process (12) BCCPA will generate awareness of the challenges associated with BCs Care Aide Registry, as to advocate for necessary changes to the registry. (13) BCCPA endeavours to establish a partnership with the Ministry of Health, regarding the Seniors Living Expo
