We work on law reform issues, to ensure that laws and policies promote women's equality and are in compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. For example, we publish the CEDAW report card, which measures BC's compliance with international standards on women's rights, and then we send it to all MLAs in the province. In addition, we are pushing for greater funding and increased access to legal aid, specifically in the family law area. We are also advocating for a poverty reduction policy in government, including through increased social assistance payments and decreased restrictions on access to both social assistance and disability assistance. We respond to legislative and policy changes as they occur, and sometimes advocate for changes to those laws and bills to ensure women's equality and greater compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Kasari works particularly on legal aid and access to justice issues in the law reform context.

We are also publishing a report (I am the author) that analyses the role of psychological assessments of mothers in custody cases, and makes recommendations accordingly.
