Arranging meeting between an individual and a public office holder
The City and VBIAP are seeking amendments to Section 462 of the Vancouver Charter Act to remove the term limitation for BIAs which effectively requires them to hold a membership vote to approve a renewal of their mandate. VBIAP wants to replace renewals with a dissolution mechanism that would enable members of a BIA to initiate a petition to terminate an association. These changes would bring Vancouver BIA governance in line with best practices across Canada.
