Development, establishment, amendment or termination of any program, policy or decision
The Vancouver Aquarium is working closely with Government officials to develop working plans and policies regarding volunteer management and processes to help clean up our shorelines should we be hit with a significant amount of debris coming from the Japanese Tsunami. We are also concerned with the impact to our coast line and coastal eco-systems and would like to help the Government plan accordingly to minimize disturbances.

The Vancouver Aquarium is a non-profit society dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life. We operate many programs that have a provincial and national reach, which give opportunities for children and families to participate in direct action initiatives that will help protect our planet for future generations. From the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, to the Marine Mammal Rescue Centre, to BC Hydro's AquaVan, our many school programs, or the Ocean Wise Sustainable Seafood program, we aim to help individuals make the choice to get involved in the community and help make it better for everyone. These programs all utilize volunteers and help bring the issues of the natural world closer to home by increasing opportunities for everyone to get involved. We now apply for Direct Access Gaming Grants on an annual basis to help supplement these expenses and help get more people involved.
