-Implementation of the new Water Sustainability Act
-BC Government continues with the implementation of the new Water Sustainability Act which results in new regulations under the Act to ensure high environmental standards are achieved in the implementation; with a particular focus on environmental flow needs
-A new plan for action on Climate; Looking for a government commitment to take further action to ensure BC meets its legislated GHG reduction targets
-Independent, BC Review of Kinder Morgan; That the BC government mandate an independent review of the Kinder Morgan pipeline proposal
-Equalized costs for US transshipped coal vs BC coal; The BC government ensures transshipped US coal faces similar costs to BC coal producers Strong BC Endangered Species Act - That the BC government follow through on its commitment to a strong BC Endangered Species Act; Measures implemented to ensure at-risk populations of SW Grizzly Bear persist - While BC has committee to developing a recovery plan for SW Grizzly Bear populations, those populations need some immediate measures taken to ensure they persist long enough to benefit from the recovery plans once completed; A Next-Generation Environmental Assessment for BC - That the EA Revitalization process underway results in an EA process that ensures future assessment decisions support sustainability, recognize Indigenous rights, and enhance public participation and trust; Removal of fish farms from the Broughton, with an agreed-upon transition plan for existing farms - We are looking for the province to co-develop transition plans (with First Nations and the federal government) to remove salmon farms from areas where First Nations do not consent to them, particularly in the Broughton; A Climate Action Strategy for BC that has a strong chance of getting us to our GHG reduction targets - BC develops and implements a Climate Action Strategy for BC with strong accountability measures; Implementation of key recommendations from the PR review, especially re FRPA - That BC undertakes significant overhaul of key legislation related to recommendations from Mark Haddock¿s report on PR, with a particular focus on FRPA; ENGOs engage in on-going forest policy discussions - ENGOs need to be engaged in discussions the BC government is having with regard to forest policy reforms aimed at a renewed social contract for our forests
