The Government of Canada has a $40 billion federal ship prcurement program involving the construction of new Navy and Coastguard vessels. The PCSA was formed in part to help ensure BC receives an equitable portion of this work. This investment will then in turn allow BC shipyards to compete more effectively for work building and maintaining private sector vessels as well as the BC Ferries fleet.
