The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a registered volunteer-based Canadian health charity that leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through advancing research and its application, promoting healthy living and advocacy. The Foundation educates individuals about the prevention and management of heart disease and stroke and funds medical research regarding the causes of these conditions.
Founded in 1952, the organization is a federation of 10 provincial foundations, led and supported by a force of more than 140,000 volunteers.
