Lobbying Activities
Environment
Arranging meeting between an individual and a public office holder for purpose of lobbying
We have set up and attended meetings with MLAs and ministry and agency staff to discuss issues related to BC Parks and seek appropriate resources for applicable agencies. The FMCBC is deeply concerned with the levels of funding currently being provided to BC Parks and agencies in FLNRORD responsible for back country access. We have drafted and submitted papers and fact based rationales to support our requests for greater resources. Meeting with staff, MLAs and Ministers to try and resolve the serious issues is a large part of the FMCBC advocacy mandate that is being undertaken.
FMCBC is also a strong advocate for the principles of the Right to Roam and is working to advance this initiative in BC.
