Meeting with Minister George Heyman regarding methane research briefing (Fugitive Emissions and BC's Oil and Gas Industry). Meeting with DSF and Environmental Defense Fund regarding methane regulatory development. The intent of the meeting was to share research on methane emissions and implications for regulatory development, with the ultimate aim of informing the development of BC¿s methane regulations and the application of the carbon tax to methane emissions from the oil and gas sector in BC. Intended outcome was to advocate for strong regulations to cut methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. Details: BC currently has an opportunity to take climate action by implementing strong methane emission regulations and acting on its commitment to apply the carbon tax to methane emissions. July 31st - Meeting with David Eby on climate policy. Intended outcomes to strengthen climate policy coordination between BC and Canada - to discuss how BC can support Canada in the implementation of Canadian climate policy, including the Pan Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change.
